A Winter Journey of a Lifetime
Journey to Northern Norway and be welcomed by the Arctic winter. This 7-day itinerary brings travelers along the coast of Northern Norway from the striking Lyngen Alps to the secluded Jøkelfjord and then inland, towards Alta.
The journey combines accommodations at the renowned Lyngen Lodge, as well as glamping in Arctic Domes beside a stunning fjord, before ending with a night in an igloo hotel! These bucket list accommodations combine with bucket list experiences such as snowmobiling, snowshoeing and northern lights, to create a winter journey of a lifetime!
Where You'll Stay
Lyngen Lodge
Lyngen Lodge is one of Norway’s most unique and exclusive lodgings. Traditionally constructed from a Norwegian "lafting" pine timber frame in close partnership with the environment, geothermic heating provides the warmth while a thick grass roof provides insulation for the lodge.
Isbreen The Glacier
You will spend 2 nights at Isbreen The Glacier. Located in Jøkelfjord – a small village with only 70 persons, guarantees an intimate local experience. The property consists of 3 comfortable Arctic dome tents, set upon pillars to minimize their imprint on nature.
Sorrisniva
Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel is located in idyllic surroundings on the banks of the Alta River, approximately 20 kilometers from the town of Alta.

Itinerary
Day 1

Arriving at Tromsø Airport, your private driver will bring you directly to Lyngen Lodge.

After arriving at Lyngen Lodge, and settling in, you will embark on a public snowshoeing experience.

The hike will bring you to a viewpoint, where you can relax, enjoy the view and some local refreshments.
Day 2

A day discovering the culture of the Sami people.
Day 3

Explore the wintry nature some more, this time by snowmobile.

Your guides will bring you inland, where you'll have the chance to drill through the ice and fish for Arctic char.
Day 4

Your private driver will bring you further north to the small community of Jøkelfjord.

You will meet your private captain who will bring you out onto the fjord, to look for some of the largest winter residents of northern Norway, the whales.

You will spend the next 2 nights at Isbreen The Glacier. Located in Jøkelfjord
Day 5

You will meet your private guide who will bring you to a nearby, local husky farm. Here, you will meet friendly, happy, barking Alaskan huskies, ready to run!

Tonight is another opportunity to enjoy the northern lights from your bed!
Day 6

Discover Alta and Sorrisniva.

Visit of the Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel

Private fat bike tour of the snowy landscape.

In the evening, your private guide will return and bring you to hunt the northern lights!
Day 7

This morning, after breakfast and check-out, your private driver will meet you and bring you to Alta Airport, where you will begin your journey home.
