Recommended For (families, couples, corporate, celebrations, etc)

Families, couples, friends, celebratory /bucketlist travel.

Not-to-be-Missed Experience or Activity

Waking up at sunrise and wandering down to catch the first light of the day under Devils Throat waterfall all by yourself - you're likely to spot the most wildlife during these hours before the tour busses begin arriving and after they've departed for the day.

Don't miss sundowners on the front terrace at Bar Tarbobá, which offers views of the Falls and serves tropical libations with custom stirrers inspired by local birds.

Favorite culinary aspect of the hotel or region

Included in your stay is a fabulous breakfast buffet daily and one dinner at their signature restaurant, Itaipu, which offers phenomenal locally- and globally- inspired gastronomic fare. Think Serra Gaucha mushrooms cappuccino with foie gras foam and Pirarucu (Amazonian freshwater fish) with beurre blanc of manioc root juice, Brazilian vegetables, banana manioc crumble and pitanga reduction along with an expansive wine collection.

Favorite Wellness aspect of the hotel or region

While I didn't experience it, the property does have a very popular spa onsite and the whole stay feels very much like an immersive wellness experience. The robes in the rooms were heavenly- the perfect weight and material for the humid climate.

Favorite amenity

Complimentary Havaiianas as your room slippers- iconic. Also, toiletries by Brazilian brand Granado were fabulous as well!

Kudos to: refers to a guide, chef, member of hotel team, etc. that went out of their way

The whole staff was so intuitive and helpful, but Leticia did an excellent job making me feel especially welcome and comfortable throughout my stay and Mauricio at the concierge desk provided such helpful guidance as I planned my transfers and tours.

Additional Remarks

My type of Signature Journey for sure!

Logistics are tricky, but I popped into this destination on my way home from Patagonia and recently had clients who paired Iguazu with Uruguay to round out their South American adventures!
