Recommended For (families, couples, corporate, celebrations, etc)
I would recommend this property for anyone. It would be great for larger groups - retreats in particular. However, it's also perfect for a romantic getaway or a quick family escape (though I would maybe recommend older children 13+).
Not-to-be-Missed Experience or Activity
The spa looks incredible and the wellness building has a beautiful fitness center and yoga/pilates room. There's regularly scheduled programming each day, which is complimentary. There are also additional activities available that require advance notice (and some require an added fee), but they all look incredible. There's plenty of natural beauty and hiking in the area, with Minnewaska State Park being just up the road.
Favorite culinary aspect of the hotel or region
The restaurant is delicious - the homemade granola is delicious. Even the dried apple slices somehow taste better than they should. They grow quite a bit right on property (which guests can visit) and it's clear that they take food quality very seriously. Also, some of the best fries I've had in a while!
Favorite Wellness aspect of the hotel or region
There is a beautiful spa, as well as a great fitness center and yoga/pilates room.
Favorite amenity
Their welcome drink was a treat and I unfortunately drank it way too fast. The whole check-in process was lovely, which a "washing away" ritual that leaves you feeling present and truly there. Add in that welcome drink and you're good to go!
Kudos to: refers to a guide, chef, member of hotel team, etc. that went out of their way
The whole staff was wonderful - bar staff, front desk staff, housekeeping, grangers, etc.
