Exploring summer domestic travel series
The Auberge du Soleil is truly a trip to Southern France while staying domestically in California. Nestled on a hillside amongst vineyards and wineries, driving up to the resort feels like discovering a hidden getaway. The moment you arrive, the Auberge team is well prepared for your private arrival. Once on property, you will be provided with a parking spot outside your room (if you rent a car) and all of the walk ways are outdoors, hidden amongst greenery and sculptures from a local gallery. The property has just about everything you need; from pool, gym, spa and restaurants, as well as tennis courts and sculpture garden, so you can easily spend days on property without needing to leave. While service has always been a focus for the property, I was curious what a stay at a beautiful hotel such as this would feel like during the time COVID. While there were differences (all employees wear masks and spa services were not available as of June 18th), the comfort, hospitality, and spirit of the property is still very much visible and alive. You will have an enjoyable visit start to finish. Whether its during COVID or not, I truly look forward to visiting again!
Not to miss: Take advantage of theirMercedes drive program, and cruise the local area with the top down. Dinner at The Restaurant (13 consecutive Michelin star awards). Be sure to try the house-made Campanelle and Liberty Farm Duck with your favourite Napa wine.
