How to get to

One of the easiest ways to reach South Africa from the U.S. is Delta's nonstop flight from Atlanta to Cape Town, eliminating the need for a European or Middle Eastern connection. At approximately 15 hours, you can leave Atlanta in the evening and wake up in one of the world's most spectacular cities, making the journey surprisingly seamless.

Recommended For (families, couples, corporate, celebrations, etc)

Recommended for families, couples, honeymooners, milestone celebrations, and groups seeking a personalized luxury adventure. It offers the perfect balance of exceptional wildlife, world-class hospitality, and unforgettable shared experiences for every type of traveler.

Not-to-be-Missed Experience or Activity

A safari and world-class wine tasting are two experiences not to be missed. From unforgettable wildlife encounters to award-winning vineyards and exceptional cuisine, South Africa offers an incredible combination of adventure and indulgence.

Favorite culinary aspect of the hotel or region

Cape Town's vibrant foodie scene is rivaled by the exceptional culinary experiences found throughout the Winelands. One of the best meals of my life was at Delaire Graff Restaurant. Homemade gnocchi tossed in a rich 25-year-aged Parmesan cheese sauce and finished with freshly shaved truffle!

Favorite Wellness aspect of the hotel or region

My favorite wellness experience wasn't found in a spa, it was the direct connection with nature while on safari. Surrounded by wildlife and immersed in the stillness of the bush, I found a profound sense of peace and space to reconnect with myself. It was a beautiful reminder that the true purpose of travel isn't just to see new places, but to recenter, find inspiration, and return home with a renewed perspective.

Favorite amenity

My favorite amenities were the private plunge pool and outdoor shower. There is something incredibly special about cooling off in your own plunge pool while watching wildlife pass by, or showering beneath the open sky surrounded by the sounds of the African bush, luxuries that make you feel completely immersed in nature.

Kudos to: refers to a guide, chef, member of hotel team, etc. that went out of their way

Kudos to the entire team across the Tengile MalaMala collection for their exceptional hospitality and genuine care. Their attention to every detail and thoughtful understanding of my preferences made me feel not only welcomed, but truly at home from the moment I arrived.

Additional Remarks

If you haven't yet experienced South Africa, I would move it to the very top of your travel list. It's a country that surprises and delights at every turn, from breathtaking landscapes and extraordinary wildlife to world-class food, wine, and some of the warmest people you'll ever meet. It has a remarkable way of leaving you inspired long after you've returned home!
