Not-to-be-Missed Experience or Activity
A trip to Oualidia, Morocco —the oyster capital of Morocco! At every meal, I looked out over the bay while local fishermen caught spider crabs, razor clams, cockles, and more right at the shoreline. Oyster farms line the tiny riverside, and we took a sunset boat trip in a traditional felucca, where we were served champagne and freshly shucked oysters and canapes straight from the sea- it was pure magic!
Favorite culinary aspect of the hotel or region
The meals are incredibly unique, varied and have so much history behind them. Making your own tagine and enjoying a tea ceremony is a MUST!
Pro tip: always ask how many courses you'll have when you sit down and leave space for more—because they keep coming, and you don't want to fill up on the first one!
Favorite Wellness aspect of the hotel or region
The hammams are amazing! There is a real culture behind wellness as an essential component of social life here and the therapists are among the best ive encountered. Schedule enough time for multiple treatments (one right after landing and another before departure!)
Favorite amenityÂ
The slippers at every hotel!! Each were designed in a unique Moroccan style that were so fun!
Plus the loofahs, black soap, and buckets in many of the showers made it feel like you had your own personal hammam in your room!
Kudos to: refers to a guide, chef, member of hotel team, etc. that went out of their way
Every stay was exceptional and Moroccan hospitality is truly authentic and unmatched.
That said, The entire staff at La Sultana Oualidia- bring greeted by Hannan's smile every morning at breakfast was the best way to start every day but truly, the whole staff went above and beyond.
Additional Remarks
My treehouse suite at La Sultana Oualidia- complete with a round bed, birdwatching nook, private jacuzzi, and a tree through the middle of the room was one of a kind and made for such an unforgettable stay! A MUST for honeymooners!
Surfing in Oualidia was incredible too! And learning about their bird sanctuary and water treatment system- this property has it all!
