How to get to

Multiple options - fly to JAX with a 1 hour transfers, fly into Brunswick Airport (serviced by Delta, with lift from ATL) which is 20 mins away, or 10 minute drive from the private McKinnon St. Simons Island Airport (SSI)


Recommended For (families, couples, corporate, celebrations, etc)

Ideal spot for families!! Especially during the holidays like Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, and New Years!


Also a great option for Leisure or Corporate Golf Groups


Not-to-be-Missed Experience or Activity

The Top activities I recommend most:

  • Sea Turtle tracking - nesting and hatching seasons May - September

  • Clay pigeon shooting

  • Day trip by boat to Cumberland Island (where JFK Jr. and Carolyn Bissette got married)

  • golf, golf, and more golf

Kudos to: refers to a guide, chef, member of hotel team, etc. that went out of their way

The hotel has a historian named Wheeler who offers private tour of the whole island (by golf cart), sharing lesser known information about the property and offerings as well as the background of the island and surrounding areas.


Additional Remarks

For me, this property is the perfect domestic escape for laidback adventure. Comparable to visiting a beautiful manor estate in Scotland or Ireland without the long flight where there are so many fun activities for all kinds of travelers in a refined resort setting. No matter what kind of accommodation set up is required, there is something for everyone on the island and the atmosphere is idyllic for those who live in a busy city and want a Southern escape for a few days.
