Not to be missed
Everything. Costa Rica is SO diverse. The coasts are perfect beach spots and central Costa Rica gives you volcanoes, rainforests, and cool weather. If I had to choose, Arenal Volcano Park, Manuel Antonio Park, Monteverde, and Guanacaste are must stops on your Costa Rican itinerary.
Activities
Costa Rica offers a variety of activities for the active travelers. My most loved activities can be found inland or coastal, such as horseback riding, spa (don't miss the hot springs inland, there are secret local spots we can tell you about!), visiting artists in local villages. Inland offers some of the world's best waterfall rappelling and zip lining. If you prefer ocean sports, Costa Rica has some of the best surfing spots (and surf culture) in the world.
Culinary
The local "sodas" are a treat after a long day in the sun. Nayara Springs and El Silencio are both Relais & Chateaux properties, so the dining on-site is top of class. At Nayara, executive Chef Quentin Maxine Villers honors the local ingredients and often times weaves in a bit of Asian flavors. He has a European upbringing and has worked all over Asia. Anything he prepares is incredible, and the culinary team was very much tuned into my vegan requests, offering a sperate menu. If you appreciate vegan food, you must try the leek cannelloni.
Spa/Wellness
